Chrysalis Update

We have been waiting patiently for something to happen to our chrysalis'. We have been reading books about the lifecycle our monarch butterflies and also doing some writing as well.

Yesterday afternoon we finally saw some changes in 2 of our chrysalis'. We could see the patterns of the Monarch Butterflies wings coming through on the chrysalis slightly. On the other one it was starting to turn black. We know from our reading and research that when it starts to turn black that it will take about 24 hours for it to hatch. We are hopping that it doesn't happen this quickly though because we want to see our first caterpillar transformation.

Can you see the pattern of the butterflies wings coming through?

This one is starting to turn black.

We know that when our butterflies hatch they will hang around for about 4 hours. Hopefully they are still there on Monday :)
