You can see the Chrysalis under the leaf that the butterfly has climbed out of. It is still very new.
The Butterfly kept moving up the stalk and spreading its wings. The butterfly was getting use to its new body.
It had such beautiful colours and opened its wings alot to get them dry so that it could fly.
As the day went on the Butterfly's wings got drier.
In this video you can hear us talking about what we have learnt about the Monarch Butterflies. It was such an exciting day. Our Butterfly flew off at about 1:40pm ready to lay some more eggs and start the lifecycle all over again.

It has been wonderful watching the excitement and enthusiasm of your class as they have followed the 'butterfly' trial. What a great experience for them.

It was amazing seeing the butterflies hatch out of the chrysalis! It was very sad seeing the butterfly fly away, but I knew it needs to go out to the wild to survive. I know that the butterfly will come again to continue the life cycle. :)
